Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Trade Connect LLC ("Trade Connect," "we") collects through https://trade-connect.app, how we use it, and the choices you have. We don't sell your personal information.

Information you give us

• Account details: name, email, phone, company name, market/location, role (GC or sub), and password (stored encrypted by our authentication provider — we never see it).
• Profile details (subs): trade, bio, years of experience, license number and state, insurance status, service areas, rates, availability, and work photos.
• Job posts and requests: titles, descriptions, budgets, dates, job-site locations, and attachments.
• Messages you send to other members through the site.
• Reviews: ratings and written feedback a GC leaves about a sub, shown with the reviewer's name or company.
• Credential documents (optional): if you send us a license or insurance certificate so we can review it, we use it only for that review.
• Forms: directory claim requests and supplier listing requests (name, email, phone, company, message).

Information collected automatically

• Page views: the page visited, the referring site, a random session ID stored in your browser, your account ID if logged in, and ad campaign tags in the link you clicked (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign). We don't store your IP address or device fingerprint in our analytics.
• Ad attribution: when you sign up we save the campaign tags and referring site from your first visit, so we know which ads work.
• Activity (subs): when your availability was last updated and when you were last active on the site. We use these to order search results, and they may be shown on your profile.
• Security checks: our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots. Cloudflare processes technical signals (such as IP address and browser characteristics) for that purpose under its own privacy policy.
• Advertising cookies (only if you click Accept): Google and Meta measurement tags that tell us when an ad led to a visit or signup. If you decline, these never load.
• Fonts: the site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads.
• Essential storage: login cookies and small browser-storage entries needed for the site to work.

How we use information

• to run the marketplace — show profiles and job posts, deliver requests and messages, and operate your account;
• to keep the Service secure and prevent spam, fraud, and abuse;
• to send account emails (confirmation, password reset, and important notices), and to alert subs about posted jobs that match their trade, service area, and project preferences;
• to understand usage and measure which marketing works, and to improve the Service;
• to comply with law and enforce our Terms.

What other people can see

Public profile information (name, company, location, trade, bio, service areas, availability, photos) and open job posts are visible to anyone visiting the site. Your email address and phone number are not shown publicly or to other members through the site; you choose when to share them. Files attached to job posts are stored so that anyone with a file's link can open it, so don't attach anything confidential. Messages are visible to the people in the conversation, and to our administrators only when needed to investigate abuse or handle a support request.

Directory listings of businesses that haven't joined

Some listings were compiled from publicly available business information (company name, trade, city, and a general description). If you own a listed business and want it corrected, claimed, or removed, email support@trade-connect.app and we'll act on it promptly.

Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers that run the site for us, under their privacy and security terms:

• Supabase (database, authentication, file storage)
• Vercel (website hosting and cookie-free traffic analytics)
• Cloudflare (bot protection)
• Resend (account and job-alert emails)
• Google (fonts, and ad measurement only if you accept cookies)
• Meta (ad measurement — only if you accept cookies)

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights or safety of people or the Service, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (with notice to you).

Retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is open. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Account Settings — this removes your account, profile, photos, job posts, applications, messages, and reviews you wrote, including copies other members could see. Encrypted database backups are kept for up to 30 days and then expire. Page-view analytics that aren't tied to an account may be kept longer in aggregate.

Your choices and rights

• Edit your account and profile information at any time.
• Delete your account from Account Settings.
• Decline advertising cookies in the banner, or clear your browser storage to be asked again.
• Ask for a copy of your information, or ask a question about it, by emailing support@trade-connect.app. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under state law, and we'll honor them. We'll respond within 45 days.

Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls that limit what each account can read and change, and bot protection. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information we'll notify you as required by law.

Children

The Service is for businesses and adults 18+. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

We'll post any changes here and update the date above. For material changes we'll notify you by email or on the site.
